At my house Mondays are for cleaning up. The recycling is the first priority. I must say, I am quite impressed with the job I do at recycling. I used to throw in a couple of magazines here and there but now I crush down the cracker boxes, nespresso boxes, and I make sure to put cellophane in the paper recycling. I have a big old wicker chair in the garage that I was actually planning on fixing up for my bedroom but it is so darn comfortable to sit in that chair that it makes dealing with corrugated boxes almost fun. With the sore knee I have learned how to do lots of things sitting down. :-)
Another great invention is the Swiffer. I, of course, came across it three years after everyone else had already discovered it. I use it on the wooden furniture and the baseboards. My great furniture guy told me Pledge, etc. leaves a wax buildup which is not good for the furniture. That Swiffer can even reach up high and get some cobwebs. This little beauty can give you a whole new outlook on life. And there is a Wet Swiffer which I can only imagine is super. What fun it is when chores become easier. I was out in the garden thinking about my post and thinking my readers would be wondering what is simply pleasurable about cleaning. Well, my answer to that is everything just feels better when it's picked up.
This book is one I tried a few times before I could get into it. My sister read it and said to give it a bit more effort and I am glad I did. Most everyone read this last year, but if you didn't now is the time. It is about the Isle of Guernsey during WWII. I am fascinated by stories about how the war affected people in France and England how well they adapted to their situations.
I am reading Innocent by Scott Turow which is another one you've already read. I think I have also read it before but I couldn't settle on a choice last night so I got this one.
Bye for now ...
