I am sure you think I am a Pollyanna for saying that but, in fact, there are dozens of things to do on a rainy summer day. And I mean fun things, not cleaning out closets.
I am going to put on my slicker and go out and plant those three new rose bushes I bought and weed a bit. This is fun as long as you know you'll take a nice hot shower when you're done. Rainy days are great for the garden. Planting bushes in 90 degree heat as yours truly did the other day (I am rather impulsive in case you haven't picked up on that) is not a good idea and it can really shock your plants. Mine seem to have survived. It might be because I followed the directions (new concept for me) and dug the holes and then filled them with water for 1/2 hour before putting the bushes in.
I have already ridden the permitted 10 minutes on my new stationary bike. I have a few other exercises to get done. But one can definitely ride a bike outdoors in the rain. It's not so bad. The only weather I don't ride in is snow because I have no interest in ending up in a ditch while trying to avoid being hit by a truck, or a Mommy balancing a cup of Starbucks coffee in one hand and a cell phone in the other.
Take your camera outside and take those artistic type pictures where the bloom has a drop of water ready to fall. Those can be cool although I have yet to manage that.
In the middle of this I will tell you that when I was in about fifth or sixth grade and would go over to my friend Jane's house sometimes we were bored. Well, to that Mrs. R. just said that only boring people are bored. I kind of try to remember that, even though it is a slightly hilarious remark.
You can make a casserole and put it in the freezer for one of those nights when you don't feel like cooking. I am not that good at planning ahead but it is a good idea.
And, you can sell stuff on eBay. If you can't figure it out by yourself there are tutorials on line that are quite helpful. If you don't have a camera just go ahead and use your iphone and it will be fine. Surely you have blouses you haven't worn because you really don't love them. The list could go on and on but I'll leave it up to you to choose what to sell. Be honest in your descriptions, such as it is a little worn, or brand new or whatever.
A good rule of thumb for selling on eBay is not to buy on eBay. Otherwise you are just recycling old stuff out and new old stuff in.
And, you can load up a book on your Kindle and read.
Have fun today. If I take an artistic picture I'll post it.
Bye for now.
