I have written this introduction twice and lost it somehow so now I am having a time out to watch Mariano pitch the ninth inning.


The premise of my blog is that after so much time of being busy, busy, busy I finally have time to stop and smell the roses.  That's a corny way of putting it but it sums it all up. My friend Anne is an enthusiastic bird-watcher. I always tell her you know you're getting old when you start to garden (because you actually have time to garden), take an interest in birds and in the green earth around us. She just laughs but there is some truth in this.


I have just bought a DSLR camera which is the most fabulous toy and will be posting my beginner's photos. I have also just gotten a KINDLE which is definitely the best thing since night baseball. I'll be posting my favorite books on here as well. 


I am not going to tell my pals that I have a blog until I feel confident with the way it's going.  For now, it's a secret.
