An Afternoon at the New York Botanical Garden

Now that I managed to publish a link, I'll explain. It's a YouTube video about the Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden at the New York Botanical Garden. I spent the afternoon enjoying so many beautiful roses! I took a tram ride to the garden and then went on a tour with a docent (well, I don't know what she's called really.) I was pleased to hear her talk about how lovely and fragrant the David Austin roses are, seeing that I bought four bushes on a whim at McArdle's the other day. I took a bunch of pictures, some of which are here.

Here's the rye grass growing at my country house ... ;-) not really, but isn't it pretty?  This is the type of photo you should put on the fridge in the winter. It just says S U M M E R.

On another note, I started The Fifth Witness by Michael Connelly last night and it's a great courtroom drama. The Yankees are on so it's a toss-up as to which to do: read or watch baseball.  I think the book is going to win this time.
