Peaches, peaches, peaches! I am loving the peach crop this summer. I must eat three or four a day! Well, that's all I'll admit to. I don't go crazy and make peach cobbler, peach pie, etc. because what I love is the pure peach, skin and all, right from the vine. Well, right from the produce section. I don't know what I'll eat as a substitute after the season but I can't worry about that right now.
There are four full weekends of summer left so get out and enjoy them. I love August because of peaches, corn, crickets, and letting the garden go. At this point it has a mind of its own so I just water it and let it take off in any direction.
And I have still been reading like mad. A Stolen Life: A Memoir
by Jaycee Dugard who, at age 11 was held captive for 18 years. It's important to read this so you can have an understanding about why people in captivity don't just bolt for freedom when they are out on a trip to the thrift store. Sister: A Novel
by Rosamund Lupton is a very well written story. I won't attempt to describe it for you - just make sure you read it. I am reading another book now but not so sure it is worthy of a recommendation.
Go outside and have fun!
